My research interests include experimental neuropharmacology and toxicology, neuroprotection, visual neuroscience and ocular pharmacology. My current research involves the investigation of the mechanisms of neuroprotection in neurodegenerative diseases, such as glaucoma, Alzheimer disease and stroke. Major efforts are directed toward the development of new potential neuroprotective compounds. Based on common disease features we are exploring new therapeutic strategies in treatment of glaucoma and Alzheimer disease.
