个人简介
I graduated in Agricultural Engineering by Instituto Superior de Agronomia of the University of Lisbon (ISA/Ulisboa) in 2006. I obtained an MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Engineering, also by ISA/ULisboa, in 2010 and 2018, respectively. Currently, I am an Assistant Researcher at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA/ULisboa). The focus of my research has been to understand the plant-pathogen interaction through a multidisciplinary approach in crops of national and international importance as grapevine, cashew, coffee, and cork oak. Presently, I am developing a research plan within the project PTDC/ASP-PLA/29779/2017- Exploring new sources of coffee resistance to leaf rust (Hemileia vastatrix), focused on the integration of cytology, transcriptomic and functional genomics aiming to characterize the resistance of the Kawisari hybrid (C. arabica x C. liberica) derivative (CIFC 644/18) to Hemileia vastatrix. Before that I developed a research plan within the project PTDC/ASP-HOR/28485/2017 - GRAPINFECTOMIC, focused on the transcriptomic and metabolomic reprogramming of Vitis vinifera cv. Aragonês and Vitis rupestris berries upon infection with Erysiphe necator, causal agent of Powdery Mildew. Also worked in an exciting research plan within the project PTDC/AGR-PRO/5727/2014 – cajOmics, focused on the characterizing and monitoring cashew economically significant diseases Guinea-Bissau at FCUL (ULisboa). Both MSc and Ph.D. work plans were focused on coffee resistance to Hemileia vastatrix and Colletotrichum kahawae (Ck), causal agents of Coffee Leaf Rust (CLR) and Coffee Berry Disease (CBD), respectively. Previous research activities have been focused on the Cylindrocarpon spp. population dynamics in nursery and vineyard soils (project PTDC/AGR-AAM/099324/2008) and cellular events associated with the infection process in plants from the of Fagaceae family by Phytophthora cinnamomic, causal agent of root rot (PTDC/AGR-AAM/67628/2006). Through the years, I have gathered experience in different scientific areas from classical plant pathology to cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. This knowledge has been consolidated by several practical courses and workshops and by close work with expert researchers. The close contact with ISA/ULisboa and FCUL/ULisboa gave me the opportunity of supervision, although informally, of an MSc work plan and several MSc students.
