个人简介
I joined the Novo Nordisk Foundation as a Scientific Officer in 2018.
Prior to then, my research primarily utilized the model organism, Saccharomyces cerevisiae (budding yeast), as a genetically tractable system to better understand how genome stability is maintained during DNA replication and mitosis. Because the mechanisms that regulate these processes are often conserved across species, novel findings and methodologies developed in this organism can then be extrapolated to human cell lines.
My principal research interests were broadly defined as follows:
1) To develop novel innovative methodologies to characterize various types of pathological DNA structures that are formed as a consequence of DNA replication stress.
2) To determine how DNA replication stress impacts upon general cell physiology and ageing.
3) To determine how intrinsically unstable regions of our genomes (e.g. telomeres and fragile sites) are maintained throughout our lifespans.
