My expertise is in In-silico molecule design, computational chemistry, drug discovery, Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Chiral synthesis, Marine medicine, Oceanology, computational chemistry, designing novel molecules for the therapeutic applications for cancer, tuberculosis, AMR, HIV, malaria and diagnosis for cancer and mycobacteria. We are working on the development of anticancer, anti-HIV, antituberculosis, antimalarial, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant etc… agents using the Computational tool (Schrodinger’s software) for designing of the molecules, the designed molecules are synthesized by the green chemistry pathways, the highly purified and characterized compounds are used for screening against various cancerous cell to check the effectiveness of designed-synthesized compound. The anti-cancer screening work we are doing in collaboration with NCI – National Cancer Institute, USA since the year 2002 and till date 148+ compounds screened by them, recently our Gujarat University has developed BSL – II Lab, so that some of the screening work of our compounds we are performing at our campus such as anticancer and cell line toxicity. NCI, USA has screened 148+ compounds for anti-cancer activity against the 60 cancerous cell lines. Anti-HIV work we are doing in collaboration with Rega Institute, Belgium. Anti-Viral activity in collaboration with the University of Messina, Italy and the University Mainz, Germany. Antituberculosis, antimalarial, antibacterial, antifungal activities in collaboration with Microcare Laboratory and Tuberculosis Research Center, Surat, Gujarat, INDIA Our 9 patents were granted by Indian Patent Office. Related to other work we have filed 14 more patents. Another focus is on the development of anti-protozoal, anti-diabetic, anti-oxidants and their cell line toxicity also. Also working on development of kit for detection/diagnosis of various pathogens such as Mycobacteria (MTB, M. Bovis, MOTT, MDR-TB), pathogenic bacteria, fungi etc…
