Dr. Hesham El-Askary is a Professor of Phytochemistry and Medicinal Plants. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1994 from Cairo University through joint supervision program with Phillips University, Marburg, Germany. Previously, he was appointed as Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy-Heliopolis University and as Vice-dean for Education and Student Affairs, for Faculties of Pharmacy of Cairo, Future and 6Th of October Universities. In Supreme Council of Universities, in 2010, he served as a consultant in Pharmacy sector, for equalization of pharmacy degrees and recently was appointed as the coordinator of the Pharmaceutical Studies Sector. Dr. El-Askary developed his career as Expert in herbal and natural medicine through several national and international publications, conferences and projects. He was appointed as a consultant for several pharmaceutical companies in Egypt and as a member of both the Technical Committee for drug registration and the Scientific Committee for herbal and dietary supplements at the Ministry of Health and Population. Now, he is the STDF Officer for Pharmaceutical Sciences (Science and Technology Development Fund, STDF).
