Henrik Ortsater

My scientific career is centred on the pancreatic Islets of Langerhans. I possess extensive knowledge in islet physiology, especially β-cell stimulus-secretion coupling and islet pathophysiology, in particular when it comes to dysfunction induced by either glucocorticoids or fatty acids. My main focus is to understand the pathophysiological events at the basis of insulin resistance and β-cell dysfunction with a special focus on the putative role played by protein phosphatase 5 in this context.
