Heidi Frølund Pedersen is a clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in psychology of religion. Since 2021, she is associate professor of existential health psychology. She has been involved in research projects on psychological interventions for patients with functional disorders and chronic complex pain, among other group-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and therapist-assisted internet-based therapy for functional somatic disorders. Her special clinical and research interest is existential orientations and impact of the experience of meaning in life on health and well-being. She was the general secretary for the Internation Association for the Psychology of Religion from 2017 - 2021.
