He has extensive collaborative research experience in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials, laboratory investigations and epidemiological research. In addition to biomedical collaborations, Dr. Chen has been developing statistical methodologies relating to the optimal design and analysis of experiments, generalized mixed linear models, and application of statistical methods and machine learning techniques in molecular biology and clinical decision-support for real-time patient care such as predicting blood product needs. Dr. Chen is a member of the Hormone Responsive Cancers Program within the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center Program in Oncology.
