Harald Bohnel

Currently I focus on secular variation (SV) studies in Mexico. with major advances during the last years. These advances also allow now to use SV for paleomagnetic dating of volcanic rocks. Another field is environmental magnetism, to study past environments, but also contamination of the air and soils. Finally, I use paleomagnetism to determine the paleogeography of Mexico. For all this, I try to maintain and modernize our paleomagnetic laboratory, which is used by many students and visitors.
