Hidekazu Hachisu received the Ph.D. degree in applied physics from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2006. Since 2010, he has been with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Tokyo, where he has been involved in the research and development of an optical frequency standard with neutral strontium atoms.
