Bio
Over the last decade, research work has been devoted to studying the routes of introducing oxirane groups by substitution of the hydrogen atom of the phenolic hydroxyl groups of condensed tannins or hydrolysable tannins. For the former, it was necessary to depolymerize them and obtain stable derived monomers before introducing the functional groups. The polyphenols transformed in this way were used in the synthesis of fully biosourced epoxy resins, free of bisphenol A.
