Gustavious P. Williams received the B.S. degree from Brigham Young University (BYU), Provo, UT, in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, in 1994. He worked as a Scientist in the Environmental Assessment Division of Argonne National Laboratory from 1994 to 2004, mostly working on cleanup of sites related to the nuclear or chemical weapons complex. During the same period, he held a lectureship in Environmental Studies and an adjunct faculty position in Civil Engineering at Northwestern University. In 2003, he accepted a position as project manager for Test and Evaluation at the Nevada Test Site where he managed the chemical and biological sensor testing activities for the National Nuclear Security Administration. Most of this work was related to nuclear nonproliferation issues. In 2004, he accepted a faculty position at BYU, a position he currently holds. His research interests are related to fate and transport of chemicals in the environment with a focus on remote sensing techniques.
