GuoJie Wang

Guojie Wang joined the Oregon State University (OSU) faculty in 2015 after five years as full-time researcher at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Since coming to OSU, he has developed or renewed syllabi in six crop and soil science courses and taught them effectively. Guojie Wang has been appreciated by his students with high evaluation scores and recognized in the Registry of Distinguished Teachers in the College of Agricultural Sciences. He has also initiated and carried out a sustainable forage production system research program at Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center, which focuses on searching appropriate forage species and field management practices copping with irrigation water shortage that induced by climate change and fish and wildlife habitat conservation. He has written grant proposals collaboratively to fund the field research program. The results of this ongoing research program have been gradually published in multiple outlets including peer-reviewed scientific journals. Guojie Wang was born to a farm family in the Inner Mongolia region of northern China. He majored in ecology and range management for his education based on his wishes to improve the lives of his parents and other farmers through education, research and extension. With his Ph.D. from NDSU and now work for OSU, his wishes move to a new chapter, with perspectives to serve agriculture majored students, agricultural producers, and environmental groups with his knowledge and research nationally and internationally. An important aspect of his life is family – his wife and two sons. Guojie Wang is very passionate in reading history books.
