Guillermo Stenborg

Guillermo Stenborg is a Research Physicist at the Space Science Division (SSD) of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). He holds a degree in Physical Sciences (1994) from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and a doctorate in Astrophysics (2000) from the University of Goettingen (Germany). He carried out his PhD research at the Max Planck Institute for Aeronomy (Germany), now known as Max Planck Institute for Solar Physics Research. He pioneered the use of wavelet-based image processing techniques on white-light and extreme ultraviolet solar imaging data to maximize the scientific return of selected instrumentation aboard NASA and ESA space missions. His current research blends solar and interplanetary imaging observations, development of state-of-the-art image-processing techniques, and data-analysis.
