Ph.D. from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Researcher at Epagri/Center for Development of Aquaculture, Santa Catarina, Brazil, since 2003. Previously he participated in international projects, funded by Canadian International Cooperation Agency (CIDA) and European Union, which permitted in the initiation and development of mollusk farming in Santa Catarina. Between 2003 and 2014, he coordinated projects financed by CNPq and FAPESC, focused on the development of scallop cultivation and on sanitary studies of mollusk culture areas. Between 2010 and February 2019 he served as Head of the Department of Research and Innovation at Epagri. Current research interest is reproduction and aquaculture of sea cucumbers in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
