My applied work in Robotics and Mechatronics has been strongly informed by theoretical methods in Intelligent Control. Novel approaches to robustness and adaptation in intelligent control methods have been developed by my team and successfully applied to robotic, high-precision and automotive systems.

My work is highly multi-disciplinary, crossing through my collaborative efforts into scientific themes such as Neuro-Psychology, Physics, Mathematics and certainly various engineering fields, such as mechanical engineering, electronics & communication, automotive and aerospace systems.

I have chaired two conferences in robotics and have carried out editorial duties for two technical journals (see Activities).

Among collaborating or sponsoring companies have been Altran, Moltex, Jaguar LandRover, Tata, IBM, Vector Informatik, DSpace or Western Digital.

I have been Principal Investigator for projects valued at £920k, while leading projects with an overall value of £1.2m.
