Bio
Her research has focused on tau protein and its role in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. For many years, her work has been funded by the NIH and she also served as a member of three NIH study sections. At the University of Iowa, Dr. Lee has been active in the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience, training graduate students, teaching, and serving on their admissions committee and outreach committees. Her current projects include (1) investigating the role of the interaction between tau and tyrosine kinase Fyn during normal development and in neurodegenerative disease and (2) determining the importance of tyrosine phosphorylated tau during neuropathogenesis.
