Gisele M. Arruda is an interdisciplinary polar researcher and educator in Arctic Governance, Sustainable Energy Systems, Climate Change Diplomacy, Blue Economy, Change Management, International Environmental Law & Policies, ESD, Net ZeroTransition (socio-environmental impacts, natural resources, socio-technical systems, local communities), Climate Change Risk, Environment and Society, Climate Finance, Cryosphere, trans-boundary pollution. She studied two PhDs and she is a professor in Circumpolar Studies with expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). She is a member of the UArctic, the US Arctic Committee, country director of International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association, NY, U.S., AURORA and a Council member of Polar Educators. She belongs to multidisciplinary research groups in Canada, U.S, Iceland, Norway, Greenland, researching on Arctic Sustainable Energy systems, Climate Change, Bio-economy, Blue-economy, Smart specialization, Societal Studies, Corporate Social Responsibility, and multicultural aspects of Higher Education. Previous books are Renewable Energy for the Arctic and Sustainable Energy Education in the Arctic by Routledge.
