My name is Gianuario Fortunato, I am Italian and I had a bachelor and master degree in Molecular and cellular biology at the University of Bologna. The first work field I worked in was the bioreduction of heavy metals, mostly tellurium, by purple bacteria. My interest in microbiology field continues during the Ph.D. at Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, part of a European project financed by Horizon 2020 Marie Curie grant. The project named ANSWER: ANtibioticS and mobile resistance elements in WastEwater Reuse applications: risks and innovative solutions, is focusing on the antibiotic resistance diffusion in the environment through the wastewater treatment to agricultural soil and edible plant.
