Gerrit Anton De Waal

Gerrit Anton de Waal received the Ph.D. degree in innovation management from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2011. He is currently is a Senior Lecturer of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the School of Management, RMIT University, Melbourne, Vic., Australia. He has been involved in teaching innovation and entrepreneurship for the past 17 years at tertiary educational institutions across New Zealand and Australia. He was a Research Scientist in South Africa and Malaysia. He has authored or coauthored many papers based on issues surrounding the use of tools in product development. His current research interests include product development processes and resource-constrained innovation within high-tech firms where the objective is to develop cost-effective solutions for consumers in the developing world.
