My research aims to understand why do plants die under drought and find the key physiological processes that can predict when plants will die from drought stress. Some of these processes include desiccation, hydraulic failure, and non-structural carbohydrate depletion. I am also interested in the potential role that fungal symbionts can have on plant vulnerability to drought by amplifying or ameliorating these physiological processes.
