I am working at the devision of Cell Biology, Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nurnberg. My research interest is focused on Plant Cell Biology and Physiology, with a special focus on the molecular analysis of the green algal eyespot and the phototactic response. By using a combination of biochemical, cell and molecular biological techniques we try to functional characterize this primordial visual systems and the related signaling pathways leading to the light-induced movement responses. The most recent publication from the lab is 'Channelrhodopsin-1 phosphorylation changes with the phototactic behavior and responds to physiological stimuli in Chlamydomonas' (The Plant Cell).
