Georg serves on the Scientific Advisory Group on Near-Real-Time applications of the Global Atmospheric Watch (GAW) program of the World Meteorological. Organization (WMO). He leads the WRF-Chem working group, is a member of the WRF Research and Applications Board, and served as an invited expert on COST (European Corporation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research) actions. Georg is affiliated with the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and a member of the scientific steering committee of the Shanghai Typhoon Center. Georg is a Co-Chair of the UFS physics working group and the convective parameterization sub-group.
