Gang Li studied geophysics in Shandong University of Science and Technology with first class scholarships from 2005 to 2009. He received his M.S. degree in solid Earth Physics in 2012 from Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS) & Institute of Geology and Geophysics Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGGCAS). He got his Ph.D. degree in marine Geophysics at Ocean University of China (OUC) in 2015. He was a research scientist at Ocean University of China from 2015-2016. Before joining the Department of Marine Sciences, Zhejiang University, he worked as a postdoc research fellow at Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR) from 2016 to 2018, supported by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and China Scholarship Council (CSC). He is interested in electromagnetic methods, especially the forward modeling and inversion of marine magnetotelluric (MT) and controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) data. He is also interested in joint inversion of seismic and marine CSEM data, especially the joint inversion methods using the structural or petro-physical coupling methods. He is now the associate editor of Exploration Geophysics and Bollettino di Geofisica Teorica ed Applicata (EN: Bulletin of Theoretical and Applied Geophysics). He is a member of Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE).
