Ganesh Bhat

I am a postdoctoral fellow with medical training and 10 years of research experience in the field of vascular biology, neuroscience and mouse genetics. Current interests focus on neurovascular signaling in nerve repair, motor system development and disease. During PhD, I worked with Prof. Elisabetta Dejana at IFOM, Milan on development and transcriptional regulation of the blood-brain-barrier (Corada et al 2019). My increasing curiosity for complex cellular interactions in the nervous system drove me to the current research appointment as postdoc with Dr. Dario Bonanomi in the Neuroscience Division at San Raffaele Hospital, Milan. Here, I am building on my expertise in endothelial biology and medical background to investigate the contribution of vascular damage to motor neuron disease. My ultimate goal is to translate the discovery of new molecular targets and disease pathways into treatments and cures for neurological disorders.
