I am Associate Professor of Cell Biology at the University of Cordoba. I graduated in Biology in 2005, obtained my PhD in Sciences “Cum Laude” from the University of Cordoba (Spain) in 2010 and developed my post-doctoral training at the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA). I have published 117 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Translational Oncology, focused on the pathophysiological role of different neuroendocrine systems in endocrine/metabolic disorders and tumor pathologies. I have filed 9 patents, published 31 book chapters, participated in several international conferences as invited speaker and served as Editorial Board member of different journals. I have directed 4 Doctoral Theses and 25 under- and post-graduate studies. I have received different awards,including Andalusian of the Future (2010), Young Investigator Award (2013, European Society of Endocrinology), Young Endocrinologist Award (Spanish Society of Endocrinology, 2019) or Early Investigator Award (American Society of Endocrinology, 2021).
