He has significant experience as a molecular and clinical pharmacologist, with diverse research interests such as pharmacogenomics, personalization of immunosuppressant and antileukemic drug therapies in pediatric patients, and patient-specific in vitro models.

Author of 110 original articles published in PubMed and more than 104 other articles cited in Scopus, all published in peer-reviewed journals; currently H-index of 25 (Scopus). Among other books and chapters, he is the author of book chapters on pediatric pharmacology in nationally relevant pharmacology texts.

Reviewer for international scientific journals, member of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics since 2009, for which he was chair in 2022-2023 of the pharmacogenomics community, coordinator of the working group in pediatric pharmacology of the Italian Society of Pharmacology since 2017, managing editor of the monthly SIF pharmacogenetic newsletter.
