Bio
Giorgos Fagas received the Ph.D. degree in physics from Lancaster University, U.K. and the MBA degree from the University College Cork, Ireland.
He is a Senior Researcher at the Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, Ireland, where he coordinates activities in nanoelectronics and energy-efficient electronics. His interests include a priori technology evaluation of nanotechnology-enhanced electronic devices and predictive methods based on solid physical principles. He has been developing simulation software IP, in particular, the TiMeS package. His work has been published in more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, spanning atomic scale sub-10 nm transistor designs and electronic device evaluation, implementations of first-principles electronic structure methods to electron transport, and device physics and fundamental mesoscopic phenomena validated by experiments. He has edited a reference book on molecular electronics.
Dr. Fagas has been a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany, and a Research Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut-PKS in Dresden.
