Fred K Chen

Dr Chen is a clinician-scientist with an interest in translational research in diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration and inherited retinal diseases. He is a trained vitreoretinal surgeon and medical retina specialist. As the Head of Ocular Tissue Engineering Laboratory at the Lions Eye Institute, he leads a multidisciplinary team to investigate the genotype-phenotype correlations, genetic spectrum and disease modelling of IRDs. His team develops antisense oligonucleotides for IRDs.
