Frank E. Pollick received the B.S. degree physics and biology from the Massachussets Institute of Technology, Cambridge, the M.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, and the Ph.D. degree in cognitive sciences from the University of California, Irvine, in 1991. He was a researcher at ATR Human Information Processing Research Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan from 1991 to 1997. Since 1997, he has been in the Department of Psychology, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, U.K. His research interests include the recognition of affect and intent from human movement, the neural mechanisms underlying these capabilities, and the design of human–humanoid interactions.
