I've been working on GIS developments and social applications since 1990. My research interests focus on (1) thematic cartography developments, including realistic 3D visualization, (2) land use modelling and cellular automata techniques, with an emphasis on participatory modelling and (3) various aspects of GIS and spatial analysis applied to the health sector, from the analysis of the spatial distribution of rare diseases to the urban characterization in regards to health promotion and the distribution of work-related injuries and diseases.
