Francesco Rundo received the Degree in computer science engineering and the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics for technology from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy. He is currently a Senior Technical Staff Research Member with STMicroelectronics of Catania, Catania. He is a Member of the Automotive R&D Power and Discretes Division of STMicroelectronics. He was a Member of the National Group of Physics-Mathematics of the National Institute of High Mathematics, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy. He is currently a Team Leader and Project Leader regarding to the development of Artificial Intelligence based solutions (hardware and software) for automotive, industrial and medical applications. He is currently working on the development of AI-based systems for Silicon and Silicon-Carbide device health-monitoring and modeling. He has co-authored more than 100 contributions in international journals, conference proceedings contributions, book chapters, posters, abstracts, lectures. His main research interests include advanced bio- inspired models, advanced and perceptual deep learning, embedded systems for deep learning algorithms, advanced deep learning and mathematical modeling for automotive, and industrial and healthcare fields. He is a Reviewer and the Guest Editor (or Lead Guest Editor) of several special issues organized by such key-editors in the field of computer science, such as Springer, Elsevier, Frontiers, and MDPI. He is an Associate Editor for IET Image Processing, IET Networks, Hindawi Applied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, and an Associate RT Editor for Frontiers in Computer Science and the Topic Editor for MDPI Electronics. He is a Member of the Computer Science Ph.D. Committee at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Catania, and for the National Ph.D. of Artificial Intelligence. He is also the co-inventor of several international patents and a member of several international conference program committees, chair and program chair of such ICCV and ECCV special sessions.
