F. Legrand

François Legrand received the Diploma degree in physical measurements with the specialization in nuclear measurements from the University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, in 1991. During more than 25 years, he developed the industrial design of several gyrotron oscillators for various fusion machines among which the W7-X Stellarator and ITER Tokamak. From 1994 to 2011, he has studied several disciplines as cryogenics and vacuum science at the University of Orsay, Orsay, fluid mechanics at INSA-Lyon, Villeurbanne, France, and radio frequency electronics at IUT Ville d’Avray, Ville-d’Avray, France. In 1991, he joined Thomson Tubes Electroniques, Vélizy, France. He is currently a Vacuum Tube Product Specialist with Thales Electron Devices, Vélizy-Villacoublay, France. His current research interests include the development of vacuum tubes, ultrahigh vacuum systems, and nuclear fusion facilities.
