I am a phytoplankton ecologist interested in the way nutrients shape the plankton community. I am particular curious about the relationships between the pico- and the nano/microplankton and the manner in which they compete for certain micronutrients such as vitamins. I have worked extensively in both highly eutrophic and mesotrophic coastal systems, including ecology of harmful algae.
