Fernando Pérez-García is a senior research machine learning engineer at the Biomedical Imaging group of Microsoft Research Cambridge. He holds a PhD in Medical Imaging from the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at University College London, where he developed computational methods to overcome low-data regimes in the context of epilepsy treatment. Prior to this, he was a Research Engineer at the Centre for Neuroimaging Research of the Paris Brain Institute, France, where he worked on the construction of a digital atlas of the human brainstem combining histology and 3D MRI. His developed framework TorchIO is used as a research tool at numerous hospitals and leading academic institutions in various countries including the UK, US, Switzerland, Germany, France, Russia, China, Korea, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Australia, India, Belgium, Singapore, Iran and Pakistan.
