Feride Inan received the B.A. degree in economics from Columbia University and the M.Sc. degree in international development from the University of Amsterdam. She has worked in Turkey, China, and India, leading research funded by the Turkish, British, and Swiss governments, as well as the European Union, the German Marshall Fund, OXFAM, Dupont, and Google. She has been part of policymaking processes, including her leading role of the G20’s official Think-20 network of academics and think tanks in dialogue with ministries in Turkey and China, consulting the Business-20 during the 2015 Turkish G20 Presidency. She was published extensively including a book on the G20 and Chinese transnational governance. In Turkey, her primary institutional affiliation has been with the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) established by the Turkish chambers (TOBB), where she also continues to work on the G20 and emerging markets with an emphasis on innovation-driven growth policies in these economies. Complimenting her work on technological innovation, she also works for Ambeent Inc., a start-up founded by UC Berkeley engineers focusing on optimization of wireless networks. She is currently a Policy Analyst and a Researcher working within the areas of transnational governance and social and economic development in emerging markets.
