Using the sciatic nerve injury, crush or transection model, our research investigates the molecular mechanism which inosine, a purine nucleoside, acts after an injury. We also use the nerve morphology, using semi thin and ultra thin sections, immunoflourescense, eletroneuromyography, and behavioral tests, to investigate the sucess of the inosine treatment and the enhancement or promotion of regeneration.
