We undertake projects leading to higher degrees to increase the scientific workforce in the country. I work on dengue, respiratory viral infections in children and occasionally other viral infections of medical importance and I love my work, teaching and research. I also help other faculties like Faculty of Allied health Sciences to increase their research capabilities in viral diseases. I work with students at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels and all bring good to our team. We are a happy but a very productive team and many of our past members have moved on to take academic and research positions in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. We publish locally and internationally.
