Career Trajectory
Bio
I graduated in marine environmental sciences (University of Bologna) in 2008, with a thesis aimed at producing a predatory selectivity index based on taxonomic distinctness. In 2013 I obtained the title of PhD in environmental sciences, during which I developed an artificial intelligence approach based on the joint use of fuzzy logic and Bayesian systems, the joint Bayesian fuzzy system was applied to the determination of the response of ecosystems coastal areas to extreme flooding events. Until 2016 I worked on the development and implementation of an integrated decision support system for the physical and socio-economic management of coastal flooding events as part of the European project called Theseus. From 2016 to today I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the international project IDEAL relating to the American Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic areas, specifically he deals with the integrated modeling of socio-ecological systems linked to natural resources, applying artificial intelligence models for the identification of complex patterns including physical, ecological and socio-economic dynamics in contexts of climate change and high uncertainty in order to identify management strategies that can guarantee the resistance and resilience of socio-ecological systems under the pressure of social and climate change (global change ).
