个人简介
I am a Reader in Formulation Engineering in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham (UoB) in the UK. My first degree is in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras (Greece), which was followed by an MSc in ‘Food Biotechnology’ from the University of Ulster (NI), and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UoB. I have over 16 year of experience in the design, formation, characterisation and utilisation of emulsions, foams and soft solids. My current research interests focus in the areas of Novel Emulsification Processes, Formulation Engineering of Emulsions and Soft Solids and Encapsulation and Release Technologies and my research activities have been supported through funding from EPSRC, Innovate UK (TSB), MRC, Wellcome Trust and a number of multinational industries. I have have published >70 peer-reviewed original articles/book chapters and my work has received >2000 citations by >1500 documents from >75 countries. In addition to my UoB position, I am currently an academic member on the steering group for BBSRC’s Diet and Health Research Industry Club (DRINC), a member of the Peer Review (Associate) College of the EPSRC, a member of the editorial board for the Food and Bioproducts Processing (FBP) journal and the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture (JSFA) journals, a committee Member on IChemE’s Food and Drink Special Interest Group (SIG) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
