Florin Gherendi

Florin Gherendi received the master's degree from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics, in 1991, and received the Ph.D. degree on vacuum arc plasma spectroscopy from University of Orleans, France in 2001. In 1991, he joined the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics in Bucharest, Romania. Between 1996 and 2000 he was with the Groupe de Recherche pour l'Energétique des Milieux Ionisés (GREMI), University of Orleans, France, for his PhD studies on vacuum arc plasma spectroscopy. Since 2001, he has been with the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics in Bucharest as a researcher. His research interests include pulsed electron ablation and RF magnetron thin film deposition for semiconductor devices, in particular TFTs. Other areas of competence are plasma spectroscopy, fast imaging, and electrical measurements on plasmas and plasma engineered thin films.
