Specific Research Interests:
Theory and simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in dielectric media, including the physics of light string propagation in gases.
High-harmonic generation in femtosecond enhancement cavities.
Novel laser beams.
Auantum optomechanics, in particular development of the optical spring mirror.
Theory of ultracold dilute atomic gases.
Research Summary:
My research is theoretical and computational in nature and is in the general area of optical physics. Recent research highlights include propagation of light strings in gases, theory and simulation of high-harmonic generation in optical cavities, and proposal of an optical spring mirror for quantum optomechanics.
