Evan Eshelman

Evan Eshelman received his B.A. and Ph.D degrees in Physics from Colby College and York University respectively. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Impossible Sensing studying and developing spectroscopic and optical instrumentation for planetary exploration. Before his current role, he was responsible for the design of in situ borehole instrumentation for organic detection in icy environments using Raman and ultraviolet fluorescence spectroscopy at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has served as principal investigator for technology development projects involving ultraviolet in situ subsurface organic detection and compact lidar for Earth observation, and has been a co-investigator and systems engineer for development of new technologies for lunar subsurface water detection.
