My educational and career goals are to work as an educator and researcher in the realm of Biological Engineering. My passion is in the integration synthetic biology, microbial communities, and biotechnology which opens a wide variety of exciting possibilities for the future both in healthcare and industry. I aspire to develop novel therapeutic approaches to alleviate problems in the gut using strategies that mimic interactions within natural microbial communities. Ultimately, by understanding these communities, novel approaches can produce powerful probiotics for engineering microbial communities. Additionally, I aim to evaluate microbial communities of oil reservoirs, water treatment plants, and other relevant processes, in order to identify valuable metabolites and fascinating compounds.
