Estel Cardellach

Estel Cardellach Galí received the B.S. degree in physics from The Autonomous University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, in 1997 and the Ph.D. degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Catalonia, Spain, in 2002. She has been working on scientific applications of GNSS for remote sensing of the Earth, mostly focused on assessing the geophysical information content of the GPS signals reflected off oceans. Besides scatterometric GPS applications, she developed an interferometric retrieval for polar ice altimetry from atmospheric sounding data acquired during occulting GPS low Earth orbiters links, as a National Research Council Awardee for a postdoctoral position at NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA (2002–2003). She has also been conducting studies on the geodetic uses of GNSS at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge, MA (2003–2005). She is currently a member of the research staff at the Institut de Ciencies de l'Espai, Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (CSIC-IEEC), Barcelona, Spain.
