Emma Izquierdo-Verdiguier

Emma Izquierdo-Verdiguier received the B.Sc. degree in physics and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in remote sensing from the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. She is currently a Research Assistant (postdoc) with the Surveying, Remote Sensing and Land Information Institute, Institute of Geomatics, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. Before that, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands. Her previous research focused on nonlinear feature extraction based on kernel methods and on automatic object identification and classification using multispectral images. Her current research interests include the use of earth observation data and cloud computing environment for land surface phenology. Dr. Izquierdo-Verdiguier got second rank for her paper at the student’s competition of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), in 2012 and Travel Award from the MDPI Remote Sensing journal, in 2018.
