My main interests are focused on galaxy formation and galaxy evolution, with a more specific emphasis on the physical properties of luminous starbursting galaxies and obscured active nuclei. So far I have participated to the interpretation of various cosmological and multi-wavelength surveys such as COSMOS and AEGIS, especially through the analysis of data taken at infrared wavelengths with the Spitzer Space Telescope. More recently I have also been involved in the observations and the characterization of distant galaxies with the new satellite Herschel, thanks to guaranteed time programs that we are leading at CEA in collaboration with other european countries.

I am also interested in the use of Gamma-Ray Bursts as cosmological tools for probing the early Universe and I worked at characterizing the properties of the galaxies where these events take place. In this context I participate to the preparation of the science programs that will be carried out with SVOM, a next-generation GRB-dedicated satellite to be launched around 2021.
