Eliseo Castillo

The Castillo lab focuses on mucosal immune responses specifically understanding macrophage and intestinal epithelial cell function and interaction in intestinal health and in diseases such as IBD and NAFLD. Additionally, the lab is interested in understanding the impact of environmental pollutants such as microplastics and heavy metals from abandon mines on gut health including the microbiota, the colonic epithelium and mucosal immune system. contact: ecastillo@salud.unm.edu
