Elias Polykandriotis

PD Dr Dr Elias Polykandriotis, MHBA was born 1971 in Athens, Greece. He graduated 1996 with honors from the Semmelweis medical school in Budapest after a long clinical clerkship in Harvard University in Boston, USA (Prof. R. Goldgwyn). He serviced as a country doctor and as a neurosurgeon during military service. He started his training as a plastic surgeon in Athens. With a scholarship from the German academic exchange foundation (DAAD) he could begin an academic career in the University of Erlangen. He received several prices for his research on the fields of angiogenesis and regenerative medicine and he has authored more than 70 publications. He completed in 2009 his surgical training in Erlangen on the fields of plastic surgery and hand surgery (Prof R.E. Horch), with further fellowships in aesthetic plastic surgery (A. Ghofrani). He served as acting head of the department of plastic surgery in Giessen, Germany. Since 2011 he is the head of the dept. Plastic, Hand and Microsurgery in Hof Germany. In 2012 he completed a master in health management with focus on marketing for hospitals. He is an active lecturer for Plastic Surgery in the University of Erlangen with the degree of associate Professor (APL).
