Elia Arturo Vallicelli received the master’s degree in physics from the University of Milano–Bicocca in 2017, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Microelectronics Group. He is responsible for different work packages of the Proton Sound Detector Project (ProSD) with the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), University of Milano–Bicocca, and he develops low-noise electronics, ultrasound sensors, and FPGA-based real-time systems. He collaborates with several national research projects. In 2019, he received the Gold Leaf Award from the IEEE PRIME Conference. His main research interests include medical physics, ionoacoustic particle range verification, photoacoustic imaging, and neuron-silicon interfaces.
